ioSafe has announced its new external SSD with disaster proof, the ioSafe Solo SSD. This solid state drive is the world’s first external SSD that capable protect its data from floods, building collapse, and fires.
The ioSafe Solo SSD is uses ArmorPlate steel outer casing (1000g shocks, 5,000 pound crush protection, and 20 foot drops) and FloSafe, HydroSafe, and DataCast technologies, which is provides up to 1550°F (843 degrees Celsius) for 1/2 hour in fire and 30′ water submersion for 30 days in fresh or salt water. Dimensions of ioSafe Solo SSD are 5.0×7.1×11.0 inches (WxHxL) and weight is about 9kg.
ioSafe Solo external SSD has features eSATA 3.0 (up to 3Gb/s) and USB 2.0 (up to 480Mb/s) connectivity. New ioSafe Solo rugged external SSD will be shipping in February 15th and it will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of capacities. Their prices are $499 (345 euros), $749 (520 euros), and $1250 (866 euros) respectively.
