Juniper Networks shows T series with 100 Gigabit Ethernet Interface
Juniper Networks introduced the industry’s first 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100 GE) module for the Ethernet-capable router, which will be supplied in the T1600 Core Router. In doing so, Juniper Networks promises that its T1600 router will guarantee customers a long-term investment protection, as well as scalability and flexibility needed to get the income from high-capacity services, such as video and supporting Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology.
100 GE interfaces of Juniper, substantially increasing bandwidth to a connection that will enable service providers and data centers to reduce the number of interfaces required for their networks, while greatly simplifying the topology, and improve operational efficiency, thereby helping to reduce total cost of ownership.
Presented today 100 GE interfaces are based on several related to the nucleus of the network and improving with time solutions offered by Juniper over the past few years. Among them:
* The T1600 Core Router: presented on the market in 2007. As the producer, it remains the most productive and energy efficient core router network, available in a single chassis, and the only one in the world, with 100 gigabits/second of per-slot capacity.
* Platform for Juniper Control System (JCS) 1200: the first in the industry of high-scalable management platform that provides independent scaling resources as signal transduction and control, as well as hardware-based virtualization for T Series routers.
* TX Matrix Plus: combining multiple devices the T1600s platform with JCS 1200, its flexible hardware-based virtualized routers, highly scalable.
Juniper is going to demonstrate 100 GE interfaces modules this week at Interop Tokyo. The new modules will be tested in the Juniper Networks customers before the end of 2009.
