After first announced in almost two months ago, the Kyocera Hydro Edge smartphone is now available for pre-order in the United States. According to press release, Sprint and Boost Mobile will launch the Kyocera waterproof smartphone on July 19th and July 23rd, respectively.
The Kyocera Hydro Edge is a submersible handset that aimed to people who need a budget handset with environment protection. It fits IPX5/7 certified that claims survive to submerged in up to 3.28 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. This handset provides Smart Sonic Receiver technology, which is improves audio quality even in noisy environments.
Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the new Kyocera Hydro Edge sports a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a 1600 mAh battery. The 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display is an impact-resistant and a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Alongside a bit ‘rugged’ body, the phone offers a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and video recording for capturing your amazing moment. As far as connectivity goes, users will find Bluetooth 4.0 to pair with other device.
On Sprint, buyers can purchase the Hydro Edge with priced at $19.99 on a 2-year contract via the Truly Unlimited plan. If you will get it on Boost Mobile, you can use contract-free with Monthly Unlimited plan. The pricing of Kyocera Hydro Edge smartphone is $149.99.
