LaCie has released a new portable media players based on hard disk, LaCinema Rugged HD. The product is designed to store and playback high definition movies, music, and photos, as well as output of content as 1080p for High Definition TV. The device is compatible with a display that HDMI supports, use the graphical menu and settings with the possibility of control with the remote control. The LaCinema Rugged HD can connect to computer use USB 2.0 cable, it’s also for multimedia content loading.

LaCinema Rugged HD multimedia hard drive is a small device, durable, scratch-resistant, aluminum case, which it has built shock absorbers and rubber “bumper” on the edge to protect the hard drive from shocks. The LaCinema Rugged HD multimedia HDD can be connected to HDTV via HDMI cable, supports most of HD video codecs, including H.264, MKV, WMV9, and MPEG-4.

LaCie LaCinema Rugged HD media players equipped with 500 GB hard disk. According to the manufacturer, this is quite enough to store 700 movies, 165,000 songs, or 165,000 photos. LaCinema Rugged HD is already available for purchase, its cost is about $350.
