LaCie introduced a new external drive with fashion-friendly from Sam Hecht-designed. LaCie DVD writer drive has an elegant and simple black finish, it is measures 157.5x137x25 mm and weighs 305 grams. It connects to computer using USB 2.0, which also serves as a power supply, so no need to use an additional power supply. It has support for LightScribe technology and provides maximum writing speed: 8x for DVD±R and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD±R DL and DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM and 24x for CD-R/RW.
The LaCie Portable DVD burner is a two-year manufacturer’s warranty and will be available in PC and Mac, it has costs at $89.99 and $119.99 respectively.
“With the popularity of small laptops and netbooks, which are often not equipped with an optical drive, users need an ultra-portable DVD-RW recorders, which allow them to store and share their collections of multimedia”, said Christelle Dexet, Mutimedia Product Manager.
