LaCie has introduced new external hard drive, called LaCie Rugged eSATA. The LaCie Rugged eSATA external HDD is a USB-eSATA combo port (Power eSATA), which is no requires additional power source that can use a USB port to provide the remaining energy. However, the LaCie Rugged eSATA supports eSATA and usual USB 2.0 interface.
LaCie Rugged eSATA external hard drive is enclosed in a scratch-resistant aluminum case filled that covered by a rubber bumper and internal shock absorbers shell. It is offers up to 90MB/s through Power eSATA and compatible with standard eSATA ports.
New LaCie Rugged eSATA portable HDD comes in 500GB of capacity storage with 7,200 rpm. It is pre-loaded with LaCie Backup Assistant and the LaCie Setup Assistant software, which is responsible for backing up data, recovery and hard drive configuration.
Dimensions of LaCie Rugged eSATA are 90x145x25 mm and weight is 239g. It will be available with costs at $160.
