Lenovo A586 smartphone with voice unlock from Baidu and A*STAR verification tech

Unlocking smartphones use finger swipes and codes are conventional, BIRC (Baidu-I2R Research Centre) has brings a new technology into Lenovo handset. The Lenovo A586 dual-core smartphone comes with voice unlock, a new speaker verification system that developed by Baidu and A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research.

That seems users speak a distinct passphrase as a specific voice signature and the Lenovo A586 phone will be unlock. It is no-require gestures or camera tricks such as Android’s Face Unlock.

Specs-wise of Lenovo A586 smartphone is 4.5-inch touchscreen IPS display with a resolution of FWVGA 854 x 480 pixels and a 5-megapixel main camera. The A586 voice unlock-enabled smartphone boasts a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, and 4GB of internal storage. This phone with built-in voiceprint feature will be available in China starting December 12, 2012.
