At IFA 2013 event, Lenovo has recently revealed two new ultrabook for professional audience, the Lenovo ThinkPad S440 and the Lenovo ThinkPad S540. Both machines come with new 4th generation Intel Core Haswell chip and dedicated graphics. All two ThinkPads are capable to 180 degree while open the lid. The Lenovo ThinkPad S440 and ThinkPad S540 are 14-inch (1600 x 900 pixel) and 15-inch 1080p Full HD anti-glare touch display. Although suitable for professionals, both laptops will be relatively light laptop who loved by everyone, especially IT managers. These ultrabooks are made out of the magnesium alloy body with black color only. It has an ultra-thin bezel and beveled edges, which likely a ‘floating PC’, says Lenovo.
Like usual ThinkPad lineup, the notebooks has AccuType spill-resistant keyboard and three-button trackpoint. There is a large trackpad but it’s without physical button. The Lenovo ThinkPad S440 ultrabook brings up to 8GB of RAM and up to 500GB of solid state drives. Other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad S540 ultrabook has up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, as well as a numpad.
Both Lenovo ultrabooks provide a range of connectivity including Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, OneLink Dock for USB 3.0, and OneLink connector. Other features fingerprint reader, memory card reader, and a 4-cell battery.
In select markets, the Lenovo ThinkPad S440 and S540 ultrabooks will be available this month and October, respectively. New Lenovo ThinkPad S540 will cost 649 euro (around $920), while the ThinkPad S440 ultrabook will start 699 euro (about $855).
