LG G3 Cat. 6 (G3 Prime) faster smartphone gets official

Already pre-booked since last week, the LG G3 Prime aka LG G3 Cat. 6 smartphone is now officially introduced in its home market. This variant will go on sale in South Korean market on July 25, 2014. LG Electronics has also mention that it’s exclusive available to the country.

LG G3 Cat. 6 (or LG G3 Prime) smartphone has some impressive specifications and actually a faster variant of the existing G3 phone. That looks like the faster model of Galaxy S5 – called the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (unveiled last month). Both devices were designed for South Korean consumers.


The LG G3 Cat.6 phone rocks a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor. Courtesy of this processor, it makes the phone to support LTE-Advanced networks in the country and capable to downloading with impressive speed of up to 225Mbps.

New smartphone is joining a phablet category that based on a large 5.5-inch IPS touchscreen display with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. Aside the Snapdragon 805 CPU, the phone also increased performance capabilities that adopt the Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It runs the Google’s latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and a 3000 mAh removable battery.


If you’re a storage hungry user and think that 32GB is not enough, you can expand it through a microSD card for up to 128GB as well. The 13-megapixel camera on the back features Optical Image Stabilization, Laser Auto Focus, Dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording capabilities. New LG G3 Cat. 6 phone packs a 2.1MP front-facing camera that enabling users to enjoy a great experience when it comes to snapping selfies and video chatting.

Other assets include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS (with A-GPS/Glonass), and NFC. Dimensions of the handset are 146.3 x 74.6 x 9.1 mm and weighs 154 grams. Customers in South Korea will able to grab the LG G3 Cat.6 smartphone in three different color flavors – Metallic Black, Silk White, and Gold Shine.

Unfortunately though we don’t yet know when the smartphone will be shipped to you or pricing, but you probably won’t have to wait more than a few weeks.
