LG Solar E-book, e-reader solar powered

LG Electronics has developed an electronic book with a solar cell, Solar E-book. This is Sony Reader PRS-505 model, supplemented by solar cell measuring 10 cm, LG will demonstrate a prototype of the e-books at the international exhibition of display (IMID), which is start in Seoul, South Korea. The thickness of the solar panel, which is used in the LG Solar E-book, is only 0.7 mm and weight is 20 grams.
LG said that LG Solar E-book is enough to get source in the sun for four or five hours to charge enough for the whole day. Its display is based on electronic paper, that is very economical and consume energy only possible to change page. Currently, the effectiveness of the prototype is 9.6%, next year, it planned to rise up to 12% by 2012, up 14%, and then the model will be ready for commercial release, said LG.
