Micromax has recently introduced its new Android smartphone called the Micromax A116 Canvas HD. Like the LG Optimus G Pro, the new handset packs a 5-inch touchscreen IPS display but its resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (instead of 1080 x 1920 pixels).
Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (upgradeable to 4.2) OS, the Micromax A116 Canvas HD phablet boasts a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. The A116 Canvas HD phone is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM radio. There is a MicroSD card slot, a headphone jack, an 8.1MP rear-facing camera with flash, and a front 0.3MP photo camera.
It is designed for use in GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HSDPA 900/1900/2100 MHz mobile networks. Its 2100 mAh battery is enough juice for up to five hours of talk time, 180 hours of standby. Dimensions of Micromax A116 Canvas HD are 144 x 74 x 10.7 mm and weighs 168 grams.
The Micromax A116 Canvas HD phablet will be available in early February in India and price tag Rs. 15,000 (around $280).
