Motorola Droid 2 Smartphone officially
Finally, Motorola and Verizon Wireless US mobile operator have today officially introduced its new smartphone, namely the Motorola Droid 2. Verizon will offers pre-order on August 11 and ship on August 12 for price tag $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new 2-year contract. The new Motorola Droid 2 should be replaces previous model. Like its predecessor, the Motorola Droid 2 is made in side slide form factor with sliding QWERTY keyboard and lack hardware navigation keys.
New Motorola Droid 2 smartphone is powered by a 1GHz processor, 8GB of on-board memory, and runs Android 2.2 OS with support for Google Maps Navigation and virtual Swype keyboard.
The Motorola Droid 2 has brings a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with resolution of 480 x 854 pixel (FWVGA), 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash, a microSD card slot with up to 32 GB (a 8GB card included), Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI-out, Flash Player 10.1, GPS, and an accelerometer.
It is noted that the Motorola Droid 2 smartphone can act as 3G Mobile HotSpot that able connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices. In addition, Motorola Droid 2 supports DLNA Technology.
It can pack a 1400 mAh battery that provides up to 9.5 hours of talk time, up to 13 days of standby time. New Motorola Droid 2 is supports CDMA2000 1x EV-DO rev. A 800/1900 MHz. Dimensions of Moto Droid 2 are 60.5 x 116.3 x 13.7 mm and weight 169g.
Verizon has also unveils a limited-edition R2-D2 version of the Droid 2. The R2-D2 DROID 2 is honor of the iconic Astromech Droid from the Star Wars Saga and will be available online in September.
