MSI VN240GT-MD1G GPU, cheaper GeForce GT 240
Despite the fact that the GeForce GT 240 video card refers to the entry-level, some manufacturers equip with high-quality components that increase the reliability and functionality of the graphics adapter. But at the same time, it makes increases cost.
MSI, in mid-November, has released its N240GT video card, based on the GeForce GT 240 and it is equipped with Military Class and overclocking utility, Afterburner. However, many users do not need such high functionality of a graphics accelerator and do not want to overpay for the different “chip” and “things”.
So MSI has developed another version of GeForce GT 240 GPU, called VN240GT-MD1G. Unlike previous models released by Taiwanese manufacturer, this graphics accelerator does not contain Military Class component, including the Hi-C CAP capacitor, and SSCs (Solid State Chockes). In addition, it is mainly used conventional, rather than solid-state capacitors.
MSI VN240GT-MD1G is very similar to their predecessors. It is based on the GT215 chip and has 96 stream processors, 1GB of GDDR3 VRAM with 128-bit interface, as well as support DirectX 10.1 and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI. MSI VN240GT-MD1G also has clock speeds of 550/1340/1580 MHz for GPU, shader, and memory, respectively. MSI VN240GT-MD1G has cost at around 70 EUR.
