MSI Wind U130 and U135 netbook gets officially announced

Following the preliminary information appeared on here, MSI today has officially announced two of Intel Pine Trail netbooks, MSI Wind U130 and U135.

Both MSI Wind U130 and U135 are equipped with 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, an Intel NM10 Express chipset, a 10-inch display with LED backlit display with resolution of 1024×600 pixels (WSVGA), an Intel GMA 3150 GPU, 1.3-megapixel web camera, card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth, as well as an optional WiMAX module.

As expected, the MSI Wind U130 and U135 netbooks are different capacity of hard drive (160GB for MSI Wind U130 and 250GB for MSI Wind U135) and 6-cell battery (MSI Wind U135) while 3-cell battery (MSI Wind U130). According to manufacture, the use of new Intel Pine Trail platform is enabled a 15% increase in battery life of laptops compared to the previous Wind models.

MSI Wind U135 and U130 netbooks are preloaded with Windows 7 Starter OS. Dimensions of both MSI Wind netbooks are 260×180x19-31.5 mm and weight is 1.2 kg (with 3-cell battery).

The MSI Wind U130 is offered in Angelic White and Wind Dancer Black finish and it has costs at $370. The MSI Wind U135 netbook is painted in Refined Silver, Wind Dancer Black, Trendy Blue, and Cherry Red. Its price is $450. Both new MSI Wind netbooks will be available in January 2010.
