Two new X-Slim Series ultra-thin notebooks are already available in the US market. The laptops are MSI X460 and MSI X460DX that have 14-inch screen and based on Intel Sandy Bridge platform. It was announced by MSI back early last month.

MSI X460 and X460DX Specifications

Both MSI X-series machines pack up to 6GB of RAM, a 14-inch LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixel, THX TruStudio Pro audio, a DVD writer, a 4-in-1 card reader, and a 1.3MP webcam.

The MSI X460 and X460DX laptops have a metal alloy chassis paired with a chiclet keyboard. Its 6-cell battery is good for up to 8 hours of run time.

New MSI X460DX notebook is boasts a 2.1GHz Intel Core i3-2310M or 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-2410M CPU, a GeForce GT 540M graphics card with 1GB of GDDR3 memory, and a 500GB hard drive with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit pre-loaded.

The MSI X460 laptop is sports a 2.0GHz Core i7-2630QM processor, Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics, and a 750GB hard drive with Windows 7 Professional 64bit pre-installed. Unlike X460DX, new MSI X460 is also brings WiDi (Wireless Display) 2.0 capability.

The cost of MSI X460DX-008US is starts at $749.99, while MSI X460-004US laptop is $1,099.99.
