NEC LaVie Light netbook and NEC LaVie M updated

NEC will soon start selling its new netbook, NEC LaVie Light, which is built on the Intel Pine Trail.

The basic configuration of the NEC LaVie Light netbook includes a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB/250GB hard drive. NEC LaVie Light netbook is equipped with web camera, Wi-Fi, and a rechargeable battery that provides about 8 hours of battery life.

NEC LaVie Light netbook also has brings 10.1-inch display with resolution of 1024×600 pixels (optionally 1366×768 pixels). Dimensions of new NEC LaVie Light are 258×191x30 mm (or 258×213x37 mm depending on display), and runs Windows 7 Home Premium or Starter. Sale of NEC LaVie Light netbook will appear in February 2010.

In addition, NEC also intends to release an updated version of the ultra mobile PC, called NEC LaVie M notebook with a 13.3-inch display. The NEC LaVie M notebook gets a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, up to 4GB RAM, and a 320GB HDD.

NEC LaVie M laptop is equipped with Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, card reader, and an integrated Intel GMA 4500 graphics adapter. Its battery is provides up to 4.6 hours. Release date of new NEC LaVie M updated could be as early as next week.
