New Apple Xserve with Intel’s “Nehalem” Xeon processors
As expected, Apple has announced the upgrade of its server Xserve series. Compared with the previous generation of new server systems demonstrate a performance improvement up to 89%, per watt of power. At the same time, the overall performance of the updated servers has doubled. Such impressive results achieved through the use of new Intel Xeon processors with microarchitecture Nehalem, as well as a new generation of system architecture.
The new Xserve server systems are available in configurations with up to two Intel Xeon processors with clock speed of 2.93 GHz equipped with an integrated memory controller.
