New Canon imageCLASS color laser multifunction printers

Canon has announced the release of two new color laser multifunction printers in imageCLASS series. The new imageCLASS color laser multifunction printers are called MF8050Cn and MF8350Cdn, and became the most affordable color laser MFPs in the series. These devices are intended for use in small and home offices, where performance is valued and compact equipment.
Canon MF8350Cdn is able to perform the functions of printing and photocopying with a maximum speed of 21 pages per minute in color or black and white mode. In addition, it is equipped with a duplex printing function, and may make photocopies of documents, and send them by fax.
Canon MF8050Cn MFP has a little slower capacity, and can print up to 12 pages per minute (ppm) in black and white, and up to 8 pages per minute in color mode. In addition, both models have a maximum resolution when printing with 600 x 600 dpi, and have built the network functions, enabling them to connect directly to multiple computers. Both MFPs also have the ability to send scanned documents directly to a connected USB drive, or paste them into an email.
Canon MF8050Cn and MF8350Cdn MFPs equipped with 5-line LCD screen that allow easy scrolling through menus and change settings. A proprietary Auto Gradation Adjustment function allows you to monitor gradation, and density of color for high-quality printouts. Both MFPs will be available in September at a price of $499 and $699 for MF8050Cn and MF8350Cdn model respectively.

Hi,
I am looking for feed back on the cost of replacing cartridges. do you know if canon is following the route of proprietary cartridges as i am looking for inexpensive cost per page.
