New Mini HDMI connector for portable devices

There is small connector, its mini version of HDMI connector, which it can be used in mobile devices. Now the development is at the prototype stage, the connector is called Mini HDMI. Perhaps after some time it will appear in portable devices. The HDMI interface allows you to send high-resolution digital video and multichannel digital audio signals. Now this can be done through a small slot.
Normal HDMI connector (Type A) has a size 14×4 mm (0.55in wide by 0.16in tall), while the Mini HDMI (Type D) is significantly less 6.4×2.5 mm (0.25in wide by 0.1in tall) but new connector, as well as full version, 19 Pin. Perhaps support for Mini HDMI will appear in the next version of the interface. Judging by the size of the new connector, it can be used in mobile phones, HD-capable video cameras, digital SLRs, and other small devices. Rather, devices with Mini HDMI ports appear on the market no earlier than fall of this year.
