New Zune HD goes on sale and features
As expected, Microsoft announced the release of its flagship Zune HD player with touch controls. It is based on NVIDIA Tegra processor and is equipped with 3.3-inch touch-sensitive OLED display with support for multi-touch. The name is given to the new player, features such as HD-video 720p (output to external displays) and HD-radio. In addition, Zune HD allows user to go online via wireless, Wi-Fi. Cost of Zune HD with built-in memory capacity of 16GB in black case is $219.99, and the 32GB version of the silver is $289.99 (recommended retail price for the US). Zune HD version of red, green and blue colors will be available through the Zune Originals service, it is possible to order the Zune HD with a unique engraving.
Simultaneously with the release of Zune HD new version, they have release of Zune software under number 4.0, and, new opportunities appeared for the player and the computer. For example, user can now rent movies in the Zune Marketplace, as in the standard, and in HD resolution of 720p. A Zune HD Quickplay feature provides quick access to favorites, new and recently viewed content. Smart DJ, in turn, reminds Genius in iTunes and allows user to create playlists of recommended tracks on one audio. And finally, the Zune Pass subscription service now allows not only acquiring music, but just listening to it in streaming mode.
