Nissan self-healing iPhone case with Scratch Shield paint technology

The Japanese automotive maker, Nissan has created the world’s first self-healing iPhone case. The solution from Nissan is let the outer look of iPhone remain as clean as possible and of course, zero scratches.

This accessory is utilized the Scratch Shield paint, which is collaboration with the University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials Inc. The Scratch Shield paint is actually initial aimed for automotive use and could be found it on the Nissan Murano, 370Z and X-Trail, also Infiniti models.

Nissan Scratch Shield paint technology is made out of polyrotaxane, which is chemical structure, that enabling change back to its original shape, including scratches. Small scratches will require about one hour, while ‘serious’ scratches would be take around one week.

New Nissan self-healing case for iPhone 4 and 4S will be available in public later this year. There is no word on pricing yet.
