Nokia today introduced five budget mobile phones in Jakarta, Indonesia: Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616, Nokia 1800, Nokia 2220 slide and Nokia 2690. The five new mobile phones are designed for consumers in emerging markets.

The cost of Nokia 1280 is only 20 EUR, this is the cheapest phone companies in this line. The Nokia 1280 phone is made in the form factor of conventional candybar with a small monochrome display and numeric keypad. Among the characteristics of the Nokia 1280 phone are FM radio, flashlight, MP3 ringtones, speakerphone, keyboard protected against dust and phonebook to five different users in the event that one device will use the whole family. Nokia 1280 is designed for a fairly long battery life: 8.5 hours of talk time and 22 days in standby mode, in addition, Nokia 1280 phone will be offered colorful interchangeable body panels. New Nokia 1280 will be released in the first quarter of next year.

The Nokia 1616 has the same capabilities as the previous model (Nokia 1280), except for one detail: it has a color display. Therefore, this Nokia 1616 phone is a little more expensive, it is costs of 24 EUR. Nokia 1616 will also be released in the first quarter of 2010.

Nokia 1800 phone has priced at 26 EUR, it is a little different in design, but had similar features: FM radio, flashlight, 8.5 hours of talk time and so on. This Nokia 1800 will be released in the second quarter of next year.
