Nokia develops mobile phones charger from electromagnetic waves
According to Technology Review site, the developers of the Nokia Research Centre in Cambridge are now working on a new technology that will allow charging mobile phones of radio waves in the environment. Now it can be seen everywhere, and therefore can be used, the researchers decided to Nokia. Radiating antenna and mobile phones, and Wi-Fi transmitter, and television towers, and much more will be converting by Nokia Research Centre to set up the way to collect this energy, rather than squander it in vain.
The source said that now the Nokia already has a prototype device that can collect up to 5 milliwatts. However, any prolonged work of the mobile phone that is not enough. They are developing solutions that can get out of the ambient electromagnetic radiation from at least 50 milliwatts. This technology works on the principle similar to RFID, and the ability to convert electromagnetic waves into an electrical signal. Create a finished product based on a prototype Nokia plans within three years.
By the way, the idea of using electromagnetic radiation for charging the mobile phone is not new. For example, the Palm has already sold the Touchstone charger, operating on the basis of electromagnetic induction. However, this is still somewhat different solution: dock itself generates electromagnetic waves, it is necessary to put the apparatus. In the case of Nokia, perhaps, no additional devices are required.

2 Opinions about “Nokia develops mobile phones charger from electromagnetic waves”
I’m having a bit of a dilemma here. I would love to get a good phone and can’t decide on which one to choose. To begin with, i am considering the Nokia 5070, because my friend has one. It looks pretty durable, and it all seemed cool, but then i began looking at others. Now my biggest problem is to choose between the Nokia X3 and the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD 8GB. All suggestions are welcome.
