Nokia introduced the Ovi API and Ovi SDK beta (software development kit). Thus it is easier for publishers and developers to create applications with integrated services and the standard user interface, now they can do so quickly and with less effort. The company also announced its intention to constantly develop and expand the range of API for the Internet and mobile devices, providing access to the services of the company.
The first such API, announced at the annual conference of the Nokia World 2009, began Ovi Maps Player and Ovi Navigation Player, designed to implement solutions based on the location on Nokia phone. Nokia is already working with a number of key partners such as Lonely Planet, Deutsche Bahn, Associated Press, Qype, National Geographic, Deutsche Telekom Medien and Langenscheidt to create applications using the Ovi SDK beta and Ovi API.
Nokia invites developers to join the “Ovi for Developers” beta program online developer community Forum Nokia, giving them access to the beta version of Ovi SDK and Ovi API. Applications built using the beta version of Ovi SDK and Ovi API will be distributed through Ovi stores since 2010.
