Nokia Ovi Mail rapid hits one million mark

Nokia announced that its postal service, Ovi Mail broke an important stage in its development, it has more than one million accounts. Such a number of accounts have been activated slightly more than 6 months from the date of opening of the service in December 2008. Its important feature is the ability to work without a computer: create, customize and use your account directly on your mobile device. Ovi Mail includes a spam filter to protect against unwanted messages and is supported by Nokia phones based on Series 40 platform and the Nokia smartphones based on S60.

Nokia said that the most popular Ovi Mail received in the developing world, where many users simply do not have access to a computer, while still using a mobile phone. The five countries with the largest number of users of the service, includes India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia and South Africa. At the moment Nokia Ovi Mail is available in 180 countries and supports 20 languages, with, including not only the traditional European and Asian languages, but rare, like Thai, Tagalog (Philippines), Bengali, and the like.
