Nokia, Samsung and Sony work together to new interface for mobile devices
Several leading manufacturers of mobile systems, including the Nokia, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Silicon Image and Toshiba announced a new organization – Mobile High-Definition Interface Working Group. This structure is aimed at developing the industry standard for audio/video interface designed for direct connection of mobile phones and other portable consumer electronics to modern TVs and monitors high resolution.
It is reported that the new mobile standard will be based on the development of Silicon Image called Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL). This working group should focus on defining, promoting and marketing of this technology as open industry standards, available for everyone to use it in their devices, as well as having the opportunity to develop new mobile devices with its use.
Organization of Mobile High-Definition Interface Working Group will seek to provide producers and users of mobile devices convenient and inexpensive interface for transferring HD content. It will use a single cable with a small number of contacts with which you can recharge the batteries as portable devices, and stream digital audio and video content in high resolution (for video is up to 1080p).
In addition, the expected formation of a consortium, its task will be to develop specifications for a new technological standard. Naturally, the common specifications will help to promote the new interface as among manufacturers of mobile devices, and among the manufacturers of monitors and televisions.
