NorhTec Company has starting sale a new unusual netbook, Gecko Edubook. The NorhTec Gecko Edubook netbook is boasts a 1GHz Xcore86 Device on Chip, not uses Intel Atom processor that usual netbook. The Xcore86 only uses 1.2 watts of power makes it is low power consumption.
Another feature of the NorhTec Gecko Edubook netbook is its power source which is uses standard AA size battery cells. It can use NiMH 8 pcs (4 hours of battery life), Li+ 3S (4 hours) or Li+ 3S2P (6 hours).
NorhTec Gecko Edubook netbook has brings a 512MB/1GB DDR2 RAM, 2.5-inch hard drive or SD (Secure Digital) card. By the way, the new NorhTec Gecko Edubook has a modular design that allowing the central chip and memory chip can be easily replaced.
The NorhTec Gecko Edubook netbook has an 8.9-inch TFT LCD display with resolution of 1024×600 pixels, stereo speakers, and microphone. It is possible to install 3G and Wi-Fi. Gecko Edubook netbook is capable of running Windows XP or Linux OS.
