OCZ Colossus 3.5-inch SSDs, officially

OCZ Technology has introduced the high-performance solid state drive, Colossus, which is first shown in June at Computex 2009.

OCZ Colossus Drive is executes a 3.5-inch form factor, and its construction involves the use of two modules of flash memory, combined in a RAID 0 array. OCZ Colossus SSD has speed read and write data up to 260 MB/s. Its MTBF (mean time before failure) is 1.5 million hours, 0.1ms average seek time. The OCZ Colossus SSD can withstand up to 1500g.

OCZ Colossus SSD will be offered capacity of 120GB, 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB. OCZ Colossus SSD is equipped with 128MB of cache memory and it can operate at temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius. Dimensions of OCZ Colossus SSD are 146x102x25 mm.

OCZ Colossus solid state drive series are focused on the use of systems for enthusiasts, as well as powerful workstations. OCZ Technology is provides three-year warranty on the device. It is said to starting at $300.
