OCZ Technology Group has recently announced the launch of its latest solid state drives, the OCZ Vector. This SSD is suitable for use in ultrabooks, laptops and desktop PCs. Used MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash memory, the OCZ Vector sports Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller and SATA 3.0 for interface connection to a computer.
The Vector SSD has a 2.5-inch form factor with a 3.5-inch desktop adapter bracket. It is measuring 99.7 x 69.75 x 7 mm and weighs 115 grams.
OCZ Vector will be available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of capacity space. This storage reaches read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively (400MB/s write on 128GB model). Moreover, it has random read performance of up to 100,000 IOPS.
Coming with 7mm sleek alloy housing, the Vector is TRIM support. There is no word on officially pricing but Amazon has offering OCZ Vector SSD for cost $159.99 (128GB model), $289.99 (256GB unit) and $569.99 (512GB model).
