Olympus E-600 dSLR Camera, officially announced
Olympus officially introduced the new digital SLR camera entry-level, Olympus E-600, which had previously been known only by hearsay. Olympus E-600 dSLR camera is very similar to a compact reflex camera, Olympus E-620, but it is somewhat easier, lost a number of functions and, accordingly, became cheaper. Perhaps it could become a worthy competitor, for example, such a decision as Nikon D3000. Olympus E-600 uses a standard sensor and lens mount 4/3 (Four Thirds). As the older model, it is equipped with a 12.3 megapixel Live MOS sensor and 2.7-inch swivel screen. 7-point AF, ISO sensitivity range 100 – 3200, memory card support CompactFlash and xD, too similar to the E-620.
The differences can be identified the lack of backlight buttons, as well as part of program features, including multiple exposure mode. Also, the Olympus E-600 camera has received support only part of the artistic filters: Pop Art, Soft Focus and Pinhole. At the same time, features such as built-in image stabilization, continuous shutter with a speed of 4 frames per second, Cleaning System from dust and detection of up to 8 faces in the frame have been retained. New low-cost SLR camera, Olympus E-600 goes on sale in November this year. It will cost $600 complete with 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 lens or $100 less than the E-620 price with the same lens.
