Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro-Four Thirds camera in retro design
Olympus has officially introduced a new less expensive camera in its Micro-Four Thirds lineup, became known as Olympus PEN E-PL1.
The Olympus PEN E-PL1 camera is made in retro style and in contrast to previously announced Olympus PEN EP-1 ($800) and Olympus PEN EP-2 ($1100), while Olympus PEN E-PL1 will be offered at $599/€599/£549.
Olympus PEN E-PL1 camera has high-performance 12.3-megapixel Live MOS image sensor and a high-performance image processor, TruePic V. It also has intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode, 19 Scene-Select Modes, Face Detection, In-Camera Panorama, and iEnhance feature.
Among the features of the Olympus PEN E-PL1 is built-in flash and an easy-to-reach red “direct button” that easily 720p HD video recording (resolution of 1280×720 pixels) at 30fps. Through the HDMI interface can connect to a HDTV and use your TV remote to control playback functions and navigate the camera’s menus.
Olympus PEN E-PL1 camera will be available on market next month. It is bundled with M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zoom lens, USB Cable, Video Cable, Li-Ion Battery Pack (BLS-1), Li-Ion Battery Charger (BCS-1), and Shoulder Strap.
