PeeWee Tablet Laptop: for kids use Intel Classmate
Remember the OLPC? It is a laptop that was designed for children around the world, mainly the so-called “third world”. It was a good initiative that took a long time to apply, after Intel launched its Classmate, a laptop is cheaper and that was ready to sell.
PeeWee Tablet Laptop is one of these laptops from Intel, the Tablet PC version, but anyone can buy for a child.
What is certain, it is quite expensive, costing $599, bearing in mind that your hardware is not something from another world. PeeWee Tablet Laptop has includes a 1.6GHz Atom processor, as you could imagine coming from Intel, a 60GB hard drive (Beware to upgrade, its use PATA not SATA), coupled with a memory card reader and 1GB of RAM.
But it has a touch screen and applications for drawing and playing, in the end is what the kids should like, power draw, despite being a computer screen. PeeWee has proper software, from Microsoft Works (although OpenOffice may be better), FBReader for e-books, ArtRage 2, amazingly, Evernote for note-taking.
