Pentax K-x High-Performance Entry-Class Digital SLR Camera
Hoya Corporation, which owns Pentax trademark, has expanded its line of Pentax digital camera models Pentax K-x. It is positioned as an entry-level SLR camera.
Pentax Kx camera has used CMOS sensor with 12.4MP effective pixels and PRIME II image processor. Among the key features in new products, it brings 11-point auto focus function of recognition of up to 16 faces in the frame, image stabilization, sensor cleaning system from dust and sequence mode with a frequency of 4.7 frames per second.
The Pentax K-x camera can make pictures with a resolution of up to 4288×2848 pixel, as well as record HD video quality with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and 24 frames per second. The device has a function of Live View, designed for viewing on the screen.
The model is equipped with a 2.7-inch display, a slot for SD/SDHC memory card and USB 2.0 port for connecting to a computer. Shutter speed is equal to 1/6000-30; maximum sensitivity is ISO 6,400.
Size of Pentax K-x camera is 123x92x68 mm and weight is about 580g with battery and memory card. This camera will be available in several different colors of the shell. Sales of Pentax Kx will appear in the next month and will cost around $650 complete with an 18-55mm DA-L lens.
