Pentax Optio W90 Rugged Camera with Digital Microscope
Pentax today introduced its new rugged compact camera, called Pentax Optio W90, which is targeted primarily at people who were infatuated with sports, scuba diving and recreational activities.
New Pentax Optio W90 camera is implemented in a robust sealed housing through which is worry-free underwater, waterproof, dustproof and shockproof (withstand a fall from a height of 1.2 meters) capabilities. The Pentax Optio W90 camera can operate underwater at depths of up to six feet for two hours to take pictures as possible during very cold weather (as low as minus 10 ÂșC) without fear of damaging the electronics.
The Pentax Optio W90 waterproof digital compact camera has featured a 12.1-megapixel sensor and a 5x optical zoom. Pentax Optio W90 comes with a 2.7-inch display, 27MB of integrated memory, and a SD/SDHC memory card slot.
Pentax Optio W90 also is implemented an improved system of Face Detection, image stabilization with Pixel Track SR (Shake Reduction), as well as new Digital Microscope mode that allows you to capture objects for a closer look at small. Pentax Optio W90 is able to record video of high quality with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 30fps.
Dimensions of Pentax Optio W90 are 108x59x25 mm and weight is about 160g (with memory card and accessories). Its battery is enabling up to 200 shots. It is available in Black and Pistachio Green color. No word on pricing and availability on market.

I’m really looking forward to grabbing one of these this summer. I owned a Pentax Optio W30, and it’s my favorite digital camera I’ve used to date. It broke awhile back, so I’m in need of a new one, the W90 looks like the route I’ll be taking.
