Pentax Optio WG-1 and Optio WG-1 GPS Rugged Compact Cameras
Pentax has expanded its adventure series digital cameras, the Pentax Optio WG-1 and the Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS. Both cameras are packs dustproof, waterproof, shockproof, coldproof, and crushproof capabilities.
The Pentax Optio WG-1 is nearly identical with the Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS, the difference is GPS functionality.
Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS rugged camera can withstand pressure load up to 100 kg, withstand falls up to 1.5m, waterproof to up to 10m, and sub-freezing temps of minus 10 degrees C (14 degrees F).
Pentax Optio WG-1 and Optio WG-1 GPS is sports a 14-megapixels image sensor, a 28mm wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom, a 2.7-inch display, and GPS to track and record positional (Optio WG-1 GPS only). It has features Face Detection, Smile and Blink detection, and digital image stabilization system.
The Pentax Optio WG-1 and Optio WG-1 GPS cameras can 720p HD video recording with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 30 frames per second. It is built-in 100MB onboard memory, SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot, and HDMI port. Dimensions of Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS are 114 x 58 x 28 mm and weight about 160 g. It is also provides a woven web fabric strap and allows attach the Pentax camera to a backpack and other outdoor gear.
Both Pentax Optio cameras will be available in April 2011. The Pentax Optio WG-1 GPS should be sale for price of $399.95 in black and yellow color options. The Pentax Optio WG-1 is comes in black and purple flavors with cost of $349.95.
