Pentax Optio WS80, P80, and E80 new compact camera, today announced
Pentax has today expanded its line of compact cameras with three new models; Optio WS80, P80, and E80.
The first of the camera is Optio WS80. This compact camera is equipped with 10-megapixel matrix and lens with 5x optical zoom. The camera performed in a sealed housing, which is not afraid to dust and can operate under water at depths up to six meters in two hours.
Pentax Optio WS80 allows record video with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and frequency of 30 frames per second. The device is equipped with image stabilization system, the display with a diagonal of 2.7-inch, about 34MB of integrated memory and slot for SD/SDHC memory card. The size of the Pentax Optio WS80 camera is 92x60x22 mm and weight is about 105g (without battery and SD memory card).
The second novelty, Pentax Optio P80 camera is completed with 12.1MP sensor and the 4x zoom lens. Among features provides an improved feature recognition of individuals in the picture, the possibility of recording video in a 720p (HD format), an image stabilization, and ultraslim with 21.5mm. The Pentax Optio P80 camera is equipped with a 2.7-inch LCD screen and a slot for SD/SDHC. Its dimensions are 97x54x21.5 mm (WxHxD) and weight is 105g (without battery and SD memory card).
But the Pentax Optio E80 camera refers to the entry-level devices. In this model, it has applied to the 10MP matrix and a lens with 3x optical zoom. The display has a diagonal of 2.7 inches, it can record video with a resolution 1280×720 pixel at a frequency of 15 frames per second. Dimensions of the Pentax Optio E80 camera are 102x60x25 mm and weight is about 125g (without battery and SD memory card).
The all cameras will go on sale in September 2009. Their prices are $250 for Pentax Optio WS80, $200 for Pentax Optio P80 camera, and $130 for Pentax Optio E80 camera respectively. Pentax Optio P80 will be available in black, pearl, and green colors.
