Pentax has officially announced a new adventureproof point-and-shoot camera, the Pentax WG-10. This durable camera coming with adventure-ready features makes perfectly companion camera for life’s explorers. The WG-10 can withstand drops from 1.5 meters height, waterproof a depth of 10 meters underwater, and working well at minus 10 degrees Celsius. Being tested at JIS Class 6, this rugged camera is crush-proof (up to 100 kilograms of force) and dustproof. Packed by a unique and rugged design, it offers both durability and intended market.
The Pentax WG-10 all-weather camera has 1/2.3-inch 14-megapixel CCD sensor with 5x optical zoom and 28-140 mm wide-angle lens (in 35mm equivalent format). To delivers blur-free photos, this camera has Pixel Track Shake Reduction mechanism that effectively compensates for camera shake by digitally processing.
Ideal for the on-the-go shooter, the Pentax WG-10 provides Digital Microscope mode for microscopic observation, which is allows magnifies the subject on the LCD display. That’s used five LED Macro Lights, which is located around the circumference of the lens barrel.
Pentax WG-10 adventure proof compact camera packs a 2.7-inch LCD display with anti-reflection coating and 16:9 aspect ratio. It also supports video recording in 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) at 30 frames per second. The camera has features sensitivity range of ISO 125-6400, shutter speed range of 1/1500-4 s. Weighs 163 grams (including battery and SD memory card), its dimensions are 115.5 x 58.5 x 28.5 mm.
Pentax WG-10 rugged compact camera will be available in mid-April 2013 for cost $179.95.
