Philips develops roadside drug test

August 7th, 2009 | Filed under Health 0 Comments

Philips is developing a device that will certainly help a police officer to detect drugs in a couple of seconds. Before, a police officer is able to detect just how much alcohol you’ve consumed in a couple of seconds.

This use of nanotechnology and the process would no longer blow as usually happens with tests for alcohol, but instead would have to spit a little saliva. After 90 seconds the device will display a code represented by a color, then there is determined if the person has ingested cocaine, heroin, cannabis, amphetamines and other drugs.

With this news, We do not think that people who use drugs are very happy, but the truth is made only in order to reduce consumption of it. Philips will have everything ready to launch in Europe end of this year, but in United States do not have any word about it on arrival.
