Philips SpeechAir Android smart voice recorder with encrypted, 360-degree microphone

Philips, better known one of famous house electronic equipment maker, has officially introduced a new voice recorder that takes advantages of Android Kitkat software. The Philips SpeechAir, it is the name of device, which developed by Speech Processing Solutions. However, this recording is aimed at legal and medical professions who need something for keep track sensitive information.

New Android-powered smart voice recorder comes with three microphone. It features a 360-degree microphone for recording dictations and meetings. For speech recognition, it provides a directional microphone. All are specifically designed for ambient-sound environment. But there is a MEMS microphone that designed for taking VoIP phone calls.

Overall, Philips SpeechAir has a phone-styled design, also its specs are similar that could be found on low-end Android smartphone. This device offers wear-free slide switch that designed for efficient single-handed operation. Users will able quick and easy for operate including play, pause, stop, fast forward, and fast rewind. There is a customizable function key above the slider, which gives users quick access to the app.

Another strong point of Philips SpeechAir is about security or keeping a confidential data. The SpeechAir recordings are encrypted in real time using AES, 256-bit. Thus, its body uses Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a material that made of antimicrobial synthetics. It will work against bacteria and various microorganisms. Furthermore, the SpeechAir packs a shockproof body of US military standard 516.6.

Philips SpeechAir Android-powered smart voice recorder with 360-degree microphone offers a docking station. It can automatically transfers all your recordings to your computer and quickly re-charges your device too. Users can also transfer your files directly from the station without having to use a computer, of course, it is requiring the LAN connection.

The Philips SpeechAir will be available for purchase in two models – PSP1100 and PSP1200. The latter one, PSP1200 is bundled with a SpeechExec Pro Dictate workflow software. At this moment, there are no information about the pricing yet.
