PhotoFast preparing 3.5-inch G-Monster SSD RAID5 and ExpressCard
PhotoFast Japanese Company is preparing to submit a couple of SSD in their original series of G-Monster. The first of these is interesting, first of all, that would be the first of PhotoFast SSD, performed in a standard 3.5-inch form factor. Moreover, unlike the majority of producers, linking their two drives flash disk in the RAID 0, PhotoFast used in its G-Monster drive RAID 5 configuration, enhancing the overall reliability of solutions and to achieve maximum capacity of 2 TB.
This configuration does not affect the comfort of working with SSD, because the main computer, it still looks like a single disc. In addition, the SSD interface is SATA II, and the speed of reading and writing the information are about 270 MB/s. PhotoFast G-Monster 3.5″ SATA SSD RAID5 will be available in models with capacity 64, 128, 256, 512 GB and 1, 2 TB.
The second model of PhotoFast, the forthcoming release will be the G-Monster ExpressCard/54 SSD. As the name implies, this drive is equipped with ExpressCard/54 interface and it is designed for use with laptops. Storage is made in a standard 54 mm ExpressCard form factor expansion card, and its performance is about the same level or even exceeded those of the disk facing the laptops. In the PCI-Express drive shows the speed of read and writes data at 170 MB/s and 100 MB/s, respectively, while in the USB 2.0, these figures were 36 MB/s and 30 MB/s. Note that the average time for safe operation of the SSD at 1.5 million hours MTBF. It will appear in sale in versions with a capacity of 32, 48, and 64 GB.
