Following some recent devices that take advantage Android platform, Pioneer has taken the wraps off its latest offering, the Pioneer XDP-100R. It is basically a digital audio player with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which provides a pretty hardware, software, and also exterior design.
Besides OS inside, the XDP-100R can sustain the device through 10 hours of regular use on a single full charge. Well, new Pioneer XDP-100R Android music player has similar features with many smartphones. As stand-alone music player, you’ll have to pay around $500. This device would be launch in Japan sometime in next month. It seems targeted at those who not happy with the audio capabilities of their smartphone.
Pioneer XDP-100R is housing in aluminium body. That’s paired with a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixel) touchscreen display to ensure an easy operate with a large screen. It also comes packed with only 32GB of storage, but users can further expand internal memory up to 288GB via two microSD card slot (each 128GB support).
As player functionality, the XDP-100R supports a wide range of any music format such as lossless FLAC, MQA, ALAC, WAV, as well as DSD audio. Thus, it is able up to 384 kHz/24-bit resolutions. Company has decided to eliminate the effects of digital noise by a separate circuit board. That’s also aimed solely for the purpose of its audio components.
