QNAP SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS with 2.5-inch SATA, 8-bay and Intel Atom-based

QNAP Systems presents new network storage (NAS), SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS. According to the manufacturer, this is the world’s smallest 8-bay storage based on Intel Atom technology to support eight 2.5-inch hard drives or solid-state drives. QNAP SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS is aimed at business users who need a stable, productive and scalable solution with low noise and energy.

This NAS is using energy efficiency Intel Atom N270 processor with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, the architecture of Disk on Module (DOM) and 2 GB DDRII memory. The total storage capacity can be as high as 4 TB. Novelty has 2 eSATA ports and 5 USB ports to expand the array, or external storage backup. The design of the drive is very quiet and economical, energy consumption, from 8 hard drives installed is only 34 watts, which is about 60% less than the conventional 8-bay 3.5-inch NAS.

In addition, QNAP SS-839 Pro Turbo NAS is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX platforms. It offers extensive programming capabilities, such as support for target devices, iSCSI (up to 8 iSCSI targets) with cost-sharing space, the expansion of capacity and change RAID levels without power, AES 256-bit encryption volumes Technology Wake on LAN, automatic blocking of IP on the basis of policies, reports on access to shared network resources, instant alerts via SMS and e-mail, BitTorrent download the protocol, Touch-N-Go RAID via the LCD panel, the scheduled power on and power off (maximum of 15 schedules), 2 Giga LAN ports, four IP cameras for network surveillance, and much more.

QNAP SS-839 Pro is a powerful server with a variety of features such as a network server, FTP server, Web server with embedded phpMyAdmin, Joomla, and MySQL/SQLite, editable php.ini, the printer server (with support for up to three printers), and the exclusive QPKG software solution allows users to add new applications in the NAS, for example, your own mail server by XDove, web pages, or online communication system with customers by using WordPress. Also, users can organize a network video surveillance system to monitor and record video with the four IP-based cameras to improve the office security monitoring.
