Quartet MSI motherboards based on new Intel P55 chipset
Micro-Star International (MSI) presented immediately four motherboards based on the new Intel P55 chipset. Among them are three solutions of the ATX form factor: P55-GD80, P55-GD65, P55-CD53 and a model micro ATX: P55M-GD45. The boards support the processors in the performance of LGA 1156 and are equipped with four slots for RAM DDR3-2133. There are also SATA connectors; 8 pieces (GD80), 7 pieces (GD65), and 6 pieces (CD53 and M-GD45), IDE (1 item for all boards), S/PDIF (only in GD80 and GD65), LAN (2 at GD80 and GD65, and 1 with CD53 and M-GD45), PCI-E x4 (only in GD65), PCI-E x1 and PCI (for 2 at GD80 and GD65, 3 at CD53 and 1 at the M-GD45). All motherboards are equipped with 14 USB connectors, while the GD80 and GD65 is available yet, and 2 IEEE 1394 ports, in addition, they support 7.1 HD-Audio.
In addition, MSI P55-GD80, P55-GD65, P55-CD53 and P55M-GD45 Motherboards support several proprietary technologies. Among them are OC Genie, overclocking, which is activated by a special button, and APS (Active Phase Switching), a dynamic change in the number of PWM phases, which achieves maximum performance when performing complex tasks and save energy at low load of the system. New MSI P55 series motherboard support Winki 2.0 Linux-environment, which is loaded very quickly and implements the core functionality, including Web surfing, instant messaging, e-mail and viewing images.
Among the peculiarities of these decisions can also note the presence of an efficient cooling system, SuperPipe 8-mm copper tube (only in GD80 and GD65). MSI P55-GD80, P55-GD65 and P55-CD53 Motherboard will be available first, they cost 185, 130 and 103 Euro respectively.
