Rumors: Apple MacBook Air with 3G and lower costs

May 29th, 2009 | Filed under Apple 0 Comments

According to SiliconRumors, invoking unnamed sources, Apple is preparing to present a new model of its premium class notebook, MacBook Air. This indicates that the starting value of the new notebook is range from $1300 to $1500 that on at least $300 cheaper than current’s models.

In addition, the same sources suggest that Apple is going to add in the new MacBook Air option to install the built-in 3G module, and it can make SSD (solid state drives) standard for all versions of laptops. Currently, SSD is available only as a high-end option. There are also rumors of the possibility of integration into the MacBook Air laptop with GPS receiver option, but according to sources, it is less likely.

Of course, the information of this kind should be treated with considerable caution. But Apple, as we know, already build “native” support for 3G function and navigation function in its new Mac OS X Snow Leopard, which it is expected to release in the near future.
