April 24th, 2009 | Filed under Apple 0 Comments

According to rumors, spreading in the Australia’s Smarthouse, Apple intends to use largest OLED display in its new notebook, which should be announced in June. Reportedly, this is stated by one of the leaders of LG Display, which was developed this 15-inch OLED screen. He also noted that the American giant would be one of the first companies that have chosen this new development of LG for use in their products.

Unfortunately, the information did not specify how exactly the new line of notebooks is planned to use these new displays. But now it is clear that this would be a rather expensive product, since production of the OLED-panel costing two to three times more expensive than producing an equivalent-sized LCD screen.

As you know, OLED-display is based on organic LED technology to improve color and contrast of images, as well as reduce energy consumption. Now Sony has released 21-inch TV with OLED display.
