Samsung 470 Series SSD hit Stores

Samsung is starting sale their new 2.5-inch solid state drives (SSD) in European and Japanese market, the Samsung 470 Series. They are available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities that cost of $199, $399 and $699 respectively, while in Europe is €152.39, €294.46 and €558.57.

New Samsung 470 Series SSD is based on multi-core controller, 30nm MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips, and SATA 3 Gbps interface. It is provides transfer rate speeds up to 250 MB/s in read and 220 MB/s in write (170 MB/s for 64GB models), and perform up to 31,000 and 21,000 I/O operations per second (IOPS) for reading and writing, respectively.

The Samsung 470 SSD has a blushed aluminum enclosure, up to 1500G resistances to shocks, a MTBF (mean time before failure) of 1.5 million hours, and TRIM support.
