Samsung Blue Earth, official launch

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of a mobile phone, Blue Earth. This eco-friendly device has been demonstrated at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2009 at the beginning of the year, it is a monoblock form factor with a touchscreen and a solar battery on the back side. Concept of Samsung Blue Earth phone is based on concern for the environment. For example, its body is made from used plastic bottles for water, Post Consumer Material (PCM), it helps reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions during the production process. Besides, the phone and its charger designed without the use of such harmful substances as Brominated Flame Retardants (BFR), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Phthalate. And, of course, do not forget, it is use solar battery.

Software of Samsung Blue Earth also includes environmentally friendly features, such as available energy-efficient mode, which can be set for backlight and Bluetooth. Eco Walk, in turn, will help count the steps passed through a built pedometer and find out how it is useful in terms of allocation of carbon dioxide than riding in vehicles. Packing phone is compact and it is made of paper, which can be easily recycled, and the inscriptions bear harmless soy ink. Samsung Blue Earth will be sold in Sweden in October, and then will be in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal and other countries in Asia and Europe.
