Samsung has released to target at emerging markets solar-powered mobile phone, Samsung E1107 Crest Solar phone. Interestingly, the first commercially available Samsung phone can be charged by solar energy, it was not submitted in Blue Earth (announced in February) but the new Samsung E1107. It is a candybar with the digital keyboard and the solar panels on the back side.

Samsung E1107 has an 800 mAh battery capacity and it can be charged as a normal way, also from the solar panel in 1 hour, under the direct sun is sufficient for 5-10 minutes. This Samsung phone is oriented mainly on developing markets and will be sold at low cost. Samsung E1107 Crest Solar phone will release in mid-June to begin its sales in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. For example in India, the unit is called the Samsung Solar Guru and costs just 2,799 INR (about $ 59)
