Samsung demonstrated the latest fuel cell system based on methanol-powered. They will be issued in 2010, though only for the military industry. From such a fuel cell can be use in various electronics, such as laptops, directly in the field. This fuel cell has weigh 3.5 kg and solution provides 1800 Watt-hours without recharging. It is enough that the device that feeds him, worked about three days.

Several years ago the Samsung has promised to create a fuel system that can provide up to 30 days of work without recharging, and it will have an acceptable size. Apparently, until this goal is not reached, but provided a model completely laptop: 3.5 kg apparatus may simply be a soldier in his equipment. Previously these figures were achieved only with the help of food weighing approximately 10 kilograms.

Despite the fact that while the DMFC (Direct Methanol Fuel Cell), Samsung are only for military use and are unlikely to need an impressive design, they are offered in different colors (there are at least a black and gold, khaki is unfortunately not available). Whether such products will soon available on the consumer market, the Samsung has silent.
