The new mid-range phablet from South Korean electronics major, Samsung Electronics has just launched in India. This budget-friendly device is known as the Samsung Galaxy Grand, which was official unveiled internationally back in December and will be available in Europe next month. So, India is becoming one of the first countries to offers this phablet.
Folks in India will be able to buy the Samsung Galaxy Grand smartphone for Rs. 21,500 (about $401). Running on the latest Google Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, the handset boasts a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of onboard memory. On the front panel, the Galaxy Grand brings a big 5-inch touchscreen display with WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution only.
Apart from dual SIM card slots, it also delivers Samsung’s Smart Dual SIM technology. As other software enhancements, there are new TouchWiz UI, Multi-window, S Voice, AllShare Play, Direct Call, Popup Play, and Smart Alert.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand smartphone is equipped with 8MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras, a microSD card slot, a 2100mAh battery, HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi.
For limited period offer, the company will also bundle this phablet with a flip cover. Samsung partner with Vodafone are offering free 2GB of data for 2 months.
